White Coat Ceremony

Sorry for the bad pic. No good ones came out. Here I am sitting next to my friend Andrew. My class and I received white coats to symbolize us transitioning from a predominantly classroom based education to patient centered training. It was a one hour ceremony that was attended by family and friends. My mother was in attendance as well as here friend JoAnne. After the ceremony, we went out to dinner down town. I was just thankful to be there (read post below) let alone get a white coat. Unfortunately the only time we will get to wear these is during our weekly group practice huddles. The rest of the time we have to wear smocks over our scrubs when seeing patients and working in lab. Above the chest pocket it says: John L. Turner, OHSU School of Dentistry.
